Description
F Ball – F47 Pressure Sensitive Isolator Adhesive – 15ltr
STYCCOBOND F47 is a solvent-free acrylic polymer emulsion adhesive for securing sheet vinyl floorcoverings onto STOPGAP ISOLATOR MEMBRANE where the Relative Humidity of the subfloor does not exceed 92%.
The adhesive dries to a permanently tacky film, has excellent plasticiser resistance and is suitable for use over normal underfloor heating installations.
Where the Relative Humidity of the subfloor exceeds 92% or if mechanical fixings are to penetrate the adhesive film and membrane STYCCOBOND F84 should be used.
Product Specifications & Key Features:
- Appearance: Viscous Liquid
- Colour: Pale Blue
- Available in 15ltr capacity
- Drying Time (approx.): From 60 minutes depending on temperature and humidity
- Coverage (approx.): 5m² per litre with 1.5mm x 5mm trowel or 3m² per litre with either a STYCCOBOND FINE NOTCH trowel:
- 15 litres Tub = 75m² with 1.5mm x 5mm trowel
- 15 litres Tub = 45m² with a STYCCOBOND FINE NOTCH trowel
- Note: Coverage rates will depend on the condition and absorbency of the subfloor
Application:
Using a 1.5mm x 5mm “V” notched trowel, hold the trowel at an angle of 60° and apply the adhesive to the STOPGAP ISOLATOR MEMBRANE then immediately roll with a paint roller, which has been pre-wetted with adhesive. The use of the roller will help to reduce drying time and help to obtain a smooth, uniform appearance and minimise adhesive grin throughout.
Alternatively, using a STYCCOBOND Fine notch trowel, hold the trowel at an angle of 60° and apply the adhesive to the STOPGAP ISOLATOR MEMBRANE. The use of a STYCCOBOND Fine notch “V” notched trowel will extend the drying time of the adhesive.
When the adhesive has dried to a clear film, follow the floorcovering manufacturer’s laying instructions and use the guidelines given below.
Place the floorcovering into the adhesive and press from the centre outwards to exclude any air; then roll from end to end and side to side using a 68kg flooring roller. 1 to 4 hours later roll again in two directions.
Note: Drying time of the adhesive will be extended at lower temperatures. The use of forced warm air dryers will help to reduce drying times. Care should be taken not to contaminate the drying adhesive film with building dust or debris as this can mirror through the finished floorcovering.
For any areas under question please consult the F Ball Technical team.
Precautions:
Do not use the paint roller to extend the area covered by the adhesive, as this will reduce adhesion.
Where the Relative Humidity of the subfloor exceeds 92% or where fittings are to penetrate the surface of the floorcovering and STOPGAP ISOLATOR i.e. drill fixings, STYCCOBOND F84 should be used.
Tools:
STYCCOBOND Fine Notch (A1) or 1.5mm x 5mm “V” notched trowel, F. Ball 68kg flooring roller, Trimming knife, STYCCOBOND paint roller. Tools should be cleaned with warm soapy water while the adhesive is still wet.
Storage:
Store between 5°C and 30°C. Protect from frost.
