F Ball - Stopgap 800 Wearcoat (25kg) Self-Levelling Wearing Surface

STOPGAP 800 is a self-levelling commercial and industrial grade floor compound used for upgrading and renovating new and existing internal floors in light to heavyduty applications where floorcoverings are not required to be installed. It is suitable for use in areas such as storerooms, post rooms, workshops, corridors, warehouses etc. STOPGAP 800 is grey in colour.

STOPGAP 800 is dimensionally stable and is supplied as a pre-blended dry powder, which is designed for application between 5-15mm. It is protein-free which allows it to be used in biologically sensitive areas. STOPGAP 800 is for application over a wide range of subfloor types including sand / cement screed, concrete, granolithic, terrazzo, epoxy and polyurethane resins and STOPGAP waterproof surface membranes.

In areas where water or other fluids may come into direct contact with the cured material, the surface must be sealed with STOPGAP SEAL. This also helps to protect the floor surface and ease maintenance by reducing the adhesion of dirt and other debris.

STOPGAP 800 can also be pump applied.

Technical Information:

  • Appearance: 25kg Lined paper sack
  • Working Time @ 20°C: 20-30 minutes
  • Walk on hardness time @ 20°C: 90 minutes
  • Consumption per mm thickness: 1.69kg/m2
  • Application thickness: from 5-15mm

Coverage:

A 25kg bag of STOPGAP 800 mixed with 4.75 litres of clean water will cover approximately 3.0m2 at a thickness of 5mm. NoteCoverage rates are based on 4.75 litre water addition and will vary according to the condition of the subfloor

Application:

Pour the mixed material onto the prepared subfloor and allow to flow and attain a smooth finish. Minimal work with a smoothing trowel is required. A spiked roller should be used immediately to eliminate entrapped air and smooth out flow lines to give a more uniform surface appearance. The mixed material should be applied at a thickness between 5mm to 15mm. For optimum smoothing and levelling characteristics , an overall thickness of at least 5mm should be maintained.

For any areas under question please consult the F Ball Technical team.

Drying:

Drying is dependent on the absorbency of the subfloor, ambient temperature and humidity. On both absorbent surfaces and non-absorbent surfaces, at a nominal 5mm thickness, the compound will be ready to receive STOPGAP SEAL after a minimum of 6 hours.

Note:

When used as a finish in domestic or design feature installations, it should be noted that consistency of colour / finish cannot be guaranteed. This is down to the naturally sourced components used within STOPGAP 800 and variations in mixing and application methods. To minimise such colour variation, material should be selected from the same batch date of manufacture. Colour differences do not effect the overall high performance of this product. This product is not recommended for external use.

We do not recommend applying subsequent layers of STOPGAP 800 as this can lead to surface pinholing / irregularities.

Tools:

Suitable steel smoothing trowel, spiked roller, mixing bucket, electric drill and power whisk or suitable pumping equipment. Wash tools with water immediately after use.

Storage:

This product must be stored under cover, in unopened bags clear of the ground in cool dry conditions, protected from frost and excessive draught. Dampness will reduce the shelf life and may cause the powder to set in the sack.

Shelf Life:

6 months in unopened bags and stored under good conditions.
